Collision Investigation
| Every fatal and serious collision is investigated to try to determine the cause. Was the collision the result of driver error or were there other contributory factors? Investigators will consider all the factors – the time of day it occurred, the weather conditions, visibility, the type of road surface, the speed and condition of the vehicle. Most important of all – what can be done to try to avoid further crashes and casualties? |

| Traffic calming measures, more warning signs and lines, targeted publicity and the use of safety cameras to deter speeding, are possible options. The Partnership always looks at educational and engineering solutions and only considers enforcement as a last resort.  | ||
